Ciaccona! with Leila Schayegh

In July 2022 I had the pleasure to be a part of Leila Schayegh’s new CD project: an album with pieces for 1, 2 and 3 violins based on the ciaccona. The album features the very famous ciacconas by Merula and Bertali, but also some unknown pieces and ciacconas with a different title, such as the “Fantazia” for 3 violins by Henry Purcell.

For the promotion video of this CD we chose one of the best known pieces in the world, which only a very small part of that world may recognise as an actual ciaccona: Pachelbel’s Canon!
